My three assessments include my pre-assessment, which is a poster presentation on what students define religion as. This project has students analyze what religion in general is, not only Christianity, or Judaism, etc. A multiple choice quiz on ancient religions, and a post assessment that is a final paper. This final paper will ask students to look at the Karl Marx quote, "Religion is the opiate of the masses." and Richard Nixon's quote "In the long term we can hope that religion will change the nature of man and reduce conflict. But history is not encouraging in this respect. The bloodiest wars in history have been religious wars." and use the religions we have studied to decide who they think is right. They will support this through facts that we have learned throughout the week.
